FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Minneapolis, MN, March 31, 2021 — StrongHearts Native Helpline announced today that the latest version of their website has gone live.

In collaboration with Red Circle Agency, the nation’s largest Native-owned casino marketing agency, StrongHearts had the site built exclusively to provide resources and assistance to those in need — including direct support. Red Circle was honored to assist StrongHearts in bringing this project to life, as advocating for Native-owned businesses and the Native community as a whole is also at the forefront of their mission.

StrongHearts, established in 2012 by a partnership between The National Domestic Violence Hotline and the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center, is a safe and anonymous domestic, dating, and sexual violence helpline offering culturally appropriate resources and advocacy for Native American and Alaska Native victim-survivors, their relatives and friends, and anyone who is questioning their own behavior.

More than just someone to talk with, StrongHearts advocates provide information and education about domestic and sexual violence, personalized safety planning, crisis intervention, referrals to Native-centered domestic and sexual violence service providers, and more.

The state-of-the-art website built by Red Circle developers features an extensive library of educational information, a live one-on-one chat option, and even an escape hatch so that viewers can easily exit the page if they are being watched or monitored. The groundbreaking live chat option was introduced last year and has been an invaluable feature, allowing victims to speak confidentially and easily with an advocate any time of the day, every day of the week.

The website serves an immediate need for the Native community and those in crisis. “We are excited to offer a new website that reflects the diversity of our Native peoples,” said CC Hovie, Communications Manager (Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians). “Our new site is visually appealing and easy to navigate whether on a phone or desktop computer.”

Conversations with advocates using the chat feature and by phone are confidential and safe. Additionally, Red Circle has built the site with its own privacy protections, which blocks information from being shared to Google, therefore keeping visitors’ information private.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic or sexual abuse, please seek help for yourself or help them become aware of services and programs that are available. Visit StrongHeart’s new website at strongheartshelpline.org or call the helpline at 1-844-752-8482.
